Europe-wide daimoku campaign: “123 Be the Light!”
At the this unprecedented time with the spread of Coronavirus in Europe, we want to respond by taking this as an opportunity to forge an even stronger, more unshakable bond as One Europe with Sensei through uniting in prayer.
We are inviting every country to join a Europe-wide daimoku campaign, using our slogan “123 Be the Light”, which means challenging 1 hour daimoku, 20 minutes of study and to “Be the Light” to 3 people every day. We invite everyone to record their daimoku on this counter and we will display the total of daimoku recorded every day at this link:Bit.ly/123bethelight.

Daily encouragement
Alongside this daimoku campaign we will send a daily encouragement via our private account Instagram.com/oneeuropewithsensei.
Only subscribers to this account with be able to see this daily encouragement we have selected from Sensei’s guidances. In addition, for non-Instagram users we will update the link “bit.ly/123bethelight” with the daily encouragement.
Domei Gongyo and Daimoku
We propose to aim towards significant Soka Gakkai anniversaries and hold domei commemorative gongyo and daimoku (like we held on March 14th and 15th). The next one will be held on April 2nd (7pm gongyo chanting until 8pm CET)and then again on May 3rd(11am gongyo chanting until 12pm CET).
In June 2018, Daisaku Ikeda and Adolfo Pérez Esquivel issued an appeal to young people:“To the Youth of the World: An Appeal for Resilience and Hope” they state:
The two of us have lived through the storms of war and violence of the twentieth century. These experiences drive our insistent efforts to expand the bonds of friendship among peoples across ethnic and religious differences. We now feel compelled to reach out to the youth of the twenty-first century and to entrust to them the task of holding high, with courage and pride, the torch of friendship, unity in diversity.
Youth of Europe, the time is now to respond to our mentor’s call. United as One Europe with Sensei, let’s be the light! Holding high “the torch of friendship, unity in diversity”, together let’s spread hope and fight to bring peace and security across Europe!
